Generating stations hold cable for outages that may never come, and when a unit is upgraded or retired the storeroom becomes a disposal project.
Plant electrical stock covers the full range: control and instrumentation cable for DCS and relay work, shielded power cable for auxiliary systems, tray cable for balance-of-plant, and grounding conductor in heavy sizes. Much of it is purchased in project quantities with substantial remainder.
We buy that remainder as a storeroom lot or by category. Because plant cable is documentation heavy, the reel tags and print matter, and we review them before quoting.
Georgia's generation fleet includes nuclear, natural gas combined cycle, hydro and biomass facilities, plus a growing solar base. Outage cycles and unit retirements are when surplus cable becomes available.
Most engagements follow the same path: you send photos or an inventory list, we respond with a range and a list of anything we need clarified, then we schedule an inspection at your site. After inspection we confirm a firm number, agree a count, and schedule removal. Payment is made by check or bank transfer once the count is agreed.
We buy wire and cable only. Transformers, switchgear, breakers, panels, motors, tools and general scrap are outside our scope, and we will help you separate them so the wire lot can be valued cleanly.
A wide shot of the racks plus a few readable tags is enough for us to give you a realistic range.
Wire and cable purchased from nuclear facilities must clear the plant's release process before it leaves the site. We work within those requirements and only handle released material.
Yes. Control, instrumentation, power and grounding cable can each be quoted separately so you can decide what to release.
Often yes, particularly instrumentation and control cable with legible print. Age matters less than condition and documentation.
Send the details below and include photos of your spools, reels and labels. Photos are what let us identify the construction, estimate footage, and give you a real number instead of a guess.
